Samar is 46 year-old married with 7 children, she lives in Yabad, a village close to Jenin in the Northern West Bank. Samar was working in trading clothes since she was 30 years old. She used to go from one boutique to another in Jenin in order to sell her products, which she buys from Jordan and Syria.
Before three years, Samar contacted Asala/the Palestinian Businesswomen’s Association. Asala’s program coordinator discussed different possibilities with her to open her own boutique and assisted her with a feasibility study. Samar received a loan to open up the Boutique. She has paid off her first loan successfully and has taken a second loan. She finished two loans with the amount of $ 3000 each and she took the third loan with $ 5000 to buy inventory.
Now her boutique in Yabad is working very well although she opened it during the Intifada. She has good clients and her boutique is running successfully. Samar has a dream to have the forth loan from Asala for opening aerobics center in Yabad. Her Husband is sick, he has a heart attack and he can’t work, her children are helping her in the project.
